Week 23
Juni har anlänt. Med högsommarvärme. Jag var utomhus nästan hela helgen ute på landet. Plockade granskott (som nu står med socker i glasburkar och ska bli sirap). Rensade i en rabatt. Skannade in foton. Vattnade mina grönsaksplantor (som pappa varit snäll och satt ner i jorden). Firade mors dag utomhus på min farbrors altan. Har fått mitt bruna sommarskinn. Igår kväll tog jag en cykeltur på 35 minuter och tog mitt första doppet i havet för i år (se bild nedan). Det var perfekt temperatur och svalkande och skönt. Gick omkring på stranden och andades in havsluften och rensade tankarna och tog in solstrålarnas spegling på vattenytan. Får jag bara klaga på att det var så mycket folk? Är uppväxt med att ha en "egen" badplats som inte är utmärkt på skyltar och bara lokalbefolkningen vet om. Blev en mindre chock när gräsplätten, berget och bryggan var fylld av folk. Vet inte varför jag inbillade mig att jag och några få andra skulle vara de enda där. Med rätta vill jag dock klaga på att folk skräpar ner. Varför är det ens något folk gör? Hittade en plastpåse vid en vägkant, och sedan mer skräp att lägga i påsen. På en gräsplätt låg flera glasflaskor och ölburkar. Lämnade kvar av de som just suttit där och njutit av solen. Det gör mig så otroligt arg.

June has arrived. With summer heat. I was outdoors in the weekend for almost the entire weekend. Picked branchlets (which now are covered in sugar in glass jars to be syrup). Weeded a flower bed. Scanned photos. Watered my vegetable plants (which my dad kindly put into the soil). Celebrated Mother's day on my uncle's altane. I have got my tanned summer skin. Yesterday, I took a bike ride of 35 minutes and took the first swim of the year in the sea (see photo below). The temperature was perfect and it was cool and refreshing. Walked around by the beach and breathed the sea air and cleaned my thoughts and watched the sun rays reflecting ont the water surface. May I just complain about the amount of people? Am used to having a "private" beach that is not marked on signs and only the locals know about. Got a small chock when the patch of grass, mountain, and jetties were crowded with people. Have no idea why I thought that just a few people and I would be the only people there. Rightly though, I want to complain about people leaving litter. Why is that even a thing? Found a plastic bag by the wayside,and later more litter to put in the bag. Found glass bottles and beer cans on a patch of grass. Left behind by the people that sat there and enjoyed the sun. It makes me furious.
Nyhetsinslagen idag, precis som igår, är fyllda av protesterna i USA. Hemska bilder på polisvåld. Folk som trotsar utegångsförbuden och pandemin för att visa sitt missnöje, sorg och kondoleans. Jag ser det som ett tecken på att nu är det nog. Det var droppen. Mitt i allt ser jag hur den amerikanska presidenten inte verkar fatta varför det demonstreras och tror att allt kommer vara bra igen så fort folk slutar demonstrera. Eftersom han hotar med att ta in militären, istället för att överhuvudtaget kommentera eller diskutera ämnet rasism och polisvåld. Får jag hoppas på att hans sätt att agera nu blir slutet för hans chanser på att bli omvald? Jag kanske är naiv igen. Slutligen, det finns bättre och viktigare kanaler som behandlar detta ämne, i USA såväl som Sverige. The news today are, just as yesterday, all covered by the protests in the US. Terrifying photos of police violence. People that defy the curfew and the pandemic to show their dissatisfaction, grief, and condoleance. I see it as a sign that it's enough now. That was the final straw. In all of this, I see how the president of the US doesn't seem to understand why they demonstrate and think it all will be solved if people just stop being out in the streets. Since he threats with sending the militaries, instead of comment or discuss the topics of racism or police violence. May I hope that this way of him to act no will be the end for his chances of being re-elected? Maybe I am naive again. Finally, there are better and more important channels that discuss these topics, in the US and in Sweden. (Plese see links above.) So go there and read. Wish you a great start of June!
